April 16-20 and April 23-27, 2018



Our crew shared about our composting initiatve at All School Crew. Finn
and Masha shared about the Frank Lloyd Wright art expedition with Mrs.
Hayes. They did a fantastic job! Thank you to Mr. Stanco for the pics.  See pics.





Jacoby adds fruit peels to the compost. We leanred
a lot from Mr. Liberatore, the compost steward,
and from researching what should go into a compost.
Mrs. Malloy's and our crew are collecting snack
scraps and some other people have also given us
their scraps to add to the compost. See pics. 




Auguste, Owen D. and J.P. share their certificates
from Mrs. Russick after the PrinciPal meeting.
They discussed ideas for the Natural world.

Here's our Mr. Boyer with Mrs. Brown during
the tribute to Mr. Boyer at Atwater's Got Talent.
It was a beautiful finale song! A shout out
to Zoah, Petra, Leo and Charlotte for the wonderful
perfomances. I'm sorry that I missed a picture
of Charlotte because I was videotaping the finale

Isla discussed the items our crew can donate
to help the Nia Imani Family Inc. Our crew has
brought many items in and we have room for

Here's our crew on the bus to the
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concert through
our partnership with ACE. Thank you to
Mr. Christiansen and Ms. Richard for chaperoning
our trip.


Mr. Hughes and Mrs.Nolan introduced band
and orchestra to our crew. The Rookies will
see all of the band instruments and try the orchestra
instruments before they decide if they would like to

Eliza, Isla and Maria show their A World in
Motion (AWIM) team design. See pics. 


Xyella, Petra and Cassidy test their Jettoy car
using an 8" template and a pump to blow up
their balloon. They are testing for distance
and speed to collect data. They analyzed their
data to see which tubes they will use for the School
Finale. See pics. 


A Shout out to Zoah, Angela and Charlotte for
earning third place for distance at the AWIM
School Finale. All teams competed in distance
and speed. Thank you to Johnson Controls
for judging this event. See pics. 






Maria, Leo, Isla, Levi and Charlotte enjoy
cookies and juice boxes from Johnson Controls
after the AWIM School Finale. 

After the All School Finale, students started
to revise their Jettoy car's appearance by
changing the form and adding designs while
the function remains the same. See pics. 





Charlotte, Zoah and Angela did a wonderful job
representing our crew at the AWIM Regional
Competition on Saturday. They created this
poster, practiced with their vehicle and competed
for speed and distance.Thank you to all of the families
that supported them, to the Johnson Control engineers
for judging, to Ted Knight for organizing, Katelin Watson
for photographing and writing an article and my colleagues
at Lake Bluff and Atwater, plus teachers from Kluge
Elementary for helping.  See pics




Other Activities:

tested Jettoy car in the hallway, researched biographies in Social Studies with Mrs. Malloy and in reading workshop, reviewed and started to assess in math
