Senator Lena Taylor signs Henry's Blue Book.
Since our class was the last in line, most of our
crew's Blue Books were personalized. A couple
fun facts Senator Taylor shared with us:  She
lives on the same street she grew up on,  out of
the 1,000 Senators in WI, she is the 20th woman,
the 5th African American and the 2nd African
American woman. See pics. 

The Student Council Vice-President, Max,
talked with our crew about
"Dollar for Honor" and bringing in $1.00 to help
a Veteran take an Honor Flight. We are
collecting money through Friday, Nov. 10th,
also our Veteran's Assembly. 

Way to go, Sam, for earning a Xtramath
certificate!

A shout out to Angela for passing a Xtramath
level!

Way to go, Charlotte, for advancing to the next
level in Xtramath!

Nancy shared a slideshow that she created about her life in
China. 

Sam and Finn shared one of their comics that they wrote. 

Masha and Cleo do the 'Burger, Fry and Shake
greeting (veggie, portabello mushroom, etc.

Mrs. Bennett read Not a Box written and
illlustrated by Antioinette Portis for our Design
Principle: Wonderful Ideas. Students took their
first, middle or last initial and created a picture.

Henry, Masha, Jacoby and Charlotte share
their reading logs to make observations
about their reading habits for the Design Principle:

The Rookies had a wonderful time at the Milwaukee Art Museum learning
about the Five Senses. They will now decide if they would like to be a
Junior Art Docent (information coming home soon!) Thank you to
Mrs. Hirano, Mrs. Marks, Ms. Spoto, and Mrs. Taylor so much for chap-
oning our trip. Thank you also to Mrs. Hirano and Ms. Spoto for pics

Xyella giving peer feedback on math problems

reflected on their math problems and received
peer feedback before they revised them. See pics. 

Cleo and Owen participate in Share-Share-
Trade (like Quiz-Quiz-Trade) to learn about the
setting and characters in Sooper Yooper:
Search for the Blue Crew by Mark Newman.
The students also heard the story and book orders
for both Sooper Yooper books were in the
Thursday bag. See pics. 

Eliza makes butter by vigorously shaking
heavy whipping cream in a container. See pics. 

Owen, Nancy, Isla and Auguste enjoy our WI Fall
Feast of cheese and crackers, cherry Kringles,
apples and caramel dip, apple cider, homemade
butter and sugared cranberries. Thank you to
Charlotte, Nancy, Jacoby, Owen D, Xyella and

Vet Junior Art Doecent went to the Milwaukee Art Museum, students reflected on learning targets, Design Principles and goals for first trimester, MOD continues to meet every Monday, students are reading JR books and making self to text connections
