Notes for Parents:
1. Revised Reading Log for this week: Reading Logs are due totaled on Monday. The minimum amount of days is four days and students should read at least 100 minutes. Please ask them to total their minutes before they bring it to school on Monday. An example reading log is in the Parent Orientation booklet.
2. Revised XtraMath this week: Mrs. Malloy's and Ms. Sakai's crew-Please practice Xtramath two times (three different days) each week. The week runs Mon.-Sun.
3. Word Masters: Your child should have brought home his/her Word Master packet home with a note attached with important information and dates. Your child will have some time to work on the "word posters" at school and should also work on them at home. Some students are working splitting the words up so I'll give them time to teach the words to each other. Their packet should be kept in their binder so they can work on it at school. The challenge is on Dec. 1st (new date) during Guided Study. They may go to www.quizlet.com and search on Advlearnig to access word lists.
4. Dollar for Honor: Thank you to all of the families that donated towards this cause. Atwater raised $250.00 to donate towards an Honor Flight. We are half way there! Please consider donating $1.00 for Honor-we are still collecting!
5. Rock, Mineral and Gem Gallery Walk: Wednesday, Dec. 14th: Please see note in Thurs. bag. This is an opportunity for students to bring in up to five specimens to share if they would like. A note catcher needs to be completed by Friday, Dec. 9th on each specimen in order to share. It's not much but it will help students decide which specimens (up to five) they would like to share.
Note catcher due: Friday, Dec. 9th (All students received reminder note last Tuesday.)
Specimens due: Tuesday, Dec. 13th
6 . No School and Conference Dates: There is no school for students on Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th. The district calendar says differently.
7. Box Tops: If you have any Box Tops, please send them in. We are collecting them! Thank you!
8. Spelling Bee: There was a note in the Thurs. bag about your child joining the spelling bee. Once they sign up, they will receive a list of words to study. Please talk with your child about whether s/he would like to sign up. Some crew members have already done so.
