Notes for Parents:

Thank you to all of the families for coming to Open House last week!  I loved watching your children show you their projects and to see how proud they were to show you. I know the crew was tired from the Urban Ecology trip (and the World Series game!)  My grandpa was a Cubs fan and I'm originally from IL. If you couldn't join us last week, please let me know if you would like to stop in another time.

1.  Reading Logs: Reading Logs are due totaled on Monday.  The minimum amount of days is five and students should read at least 140 minutes.  Please ask them to total their minutes before they bring it to school on Monday. An example reading log is in the Parent Orientation booklet.

2.  XtraMath:  Mrs. Malloy's and Ms. Sakai's crew-Please practice Xtramath three times (three different days) each week. The week runs Mon.-Sun.

3. Picture Retake Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8th: If you would like a retake  or didn't have a picture taken at Picture Day, Picture Re-take day will be Tuesday, Nov. 8th. If you already purchased a package, your child will need to bring the complete photo-package to have the picture re-taken and a new photo-package printed at no cost.

4.  Word Masters:  Your child should have brought home his/her Word Master packet home with a note attached with important information and dates. Your child will have some time to work on the "word posters" at school and may also work on them at home. Some students are working spltting the words up so I'll give them time to teach the words to each other. Their packet should be kept in their binder so they can work on it at school.   The challenge is on Nov. 28th during Guided Study.

5. Veteran's Day Assembly: Thurs., Nov. 10th at 1:45 pm.  Please see the note that was in the Thurs. bag with important information, especially about honoring Veterans at the assembly. Please also consider donating to the "Dollar for Honor Fundraiser" to send a Veteran on an Honor Flight. Wear red, white and blue on Nov. 10th.
