Blog #36

May 16-20, 2016

Our Mystery Readers were Parth and his mom!  They read
Hachiko by P. Turner.

Maya and Rose display their PrinciPal certificates from Mrs.
Russick! They took notes, attended PrinciPals to discuss
perseverance and reported to our crew.

We have 11 painted lady butterflies! Thank you
to Mr. Z for giving us the caterpillars.
Mrs. Swartz (Anna's mom), Mr. Tokarek, Ms. Forseth and
Ms. Miller joined us this week to talk about standing desks
and the research opportunity we will have next school year!
(We would only use standing desks for half the
crew at a time, there would be stools with each desk
and they would need parent approval.)
More information to follow in the Fall!

Finn leads the Crew in a greeting! We
are checking in with our individual
perseverance targets.  See pics.

Matthew, Maya, Kaiden, Noah and
Lauryn participate in a crew activity.

Jesse reads his Publishing Center story.

and actions.
Tristan shares his Publishing Center
story.

THINK:
Is it true?
Is it helpful?
Is it inspiring?
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?

Paul, Mary Jane, Finn, Piper and Aiko
help us with fractions in math. Mrs.
Malloy's math class is also working
on fractions. See pics.
To prepare for Pioneer Village and Stoney Hill School, students watched two short videos.
They also played "Button Button"
and Cross Questions and Crooked
Answers. Our read aloud is The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich.
Cole, Finn, Liam Mary Jane and
Lauryn study for the SS assessment.
Our crew took the assessment
 this week. See pics.

Piper and Tristan finish their invasive
species posters. Students are also
researching seeds. See pics.
