Notes for Parents:
Thank you so much for joining me at conferences last week! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with each of you and sharing about your child. One of my favorite parts is hearing all of your stories about your child!
1. Reading Logs: Reading Logs are due totaled on Monday. The minimum amount of days is five and students should read at least 140 minutes. Please ask them to total their minutes before they bring it to school on Monday. An example reading log is in the Parent Orientation booklet.
2. XtraMath: Mrs. Malloy's and Ms. Sakai's crew-Please practice Xtramath three times (three different days) each week. The week runs Mon.-Sun.
3. Science Fossil: Due Wed., 10/19- Reminder slips will go home on Monday.

7. Picture Retake Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8th: If you would like a retake or didn't have a picture taken at Picture Day, Picture Re-take day will be Tuesday, Nov. 8th. If you already purchased a package, your child will need to bring the complete photo-package to have the picture re-taken and a new photo-package printed at no cost.
9. Infinite Campus: You have been given access to correct or update your child's information on Infinite Campus through the Parent Portal. You may also add nicknames or preferred names for your child.
10. Crayola Photo/Video Release Form: Please turn in the form that I sent via email on Monday. I will also send you a paper copy on Monday if you'd prefer. Thank you!
11 . No School and Conference Dates: There is also no school for students on Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th. The district calendar says differently.
12. Finding book levels: If students aren't sure about book levels, they need to search Scholastic Book Wizard, choose Guided Reading A-Z, then type in the name of their book. They saw this used in class and there is a computer in class for them to do this, also, (before the log is due on Mon.) You may also download the Book Wizard app and scan the back of the book for the level.
13. Guest Teacher: There will be a guest teacher with the crew on Monday, Oct. 17th (all day) and Wed., Oct. 19th in the am only. On Monday, I'm meeting with the third grade teachers from ATW and LB to delve into the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS.)
