Cole, Bennett, Kaiden and Lauryn signed up for the Pledge.
Maya, Rose, Eleanor, Aiko and Nadia recited the Pledge.

the speaker.

Pledge over the announcements.

Jesse, Liam, Finn, Zhi and Parth round out the week reciting
the Pledge.

Finn records responses to "What does
kindness look like?"  Our crew also
watched a short video clip showing
that kindness can be unexpected
and we discussed a quote.

Jesse and Rose are in an EL Protocol
fish bowl while they review the EL
protocol back to back, front to front.

In Crew, students learned about why we have different skin color through a Bill Nye clip and that color comes in shades while comparing shades of red and blue.  Students also tasted an m+m to see if they could determine the color of it and discussed how are we like m+m's.

Ms. Penny, one of our EL mentors,
joined us at a closing crew meeting
to help choose a specific kindness goal.
Our crew also participated in mingle
mingle and fist to five. The next day,
students voted on the specific kind-
ness goal for our crew.  Our Crew also
chose individual goals and discussed
these with our accountabuddies.
Thank you, Ms. Penny!

We played a syllable game to learn about counting syllables.  Then, students listened to Dogku by Andrew Clements and One Leaf Rides the Wind: Counting in a Japanese Garden by Celeste Davidson Mannis before brainstorming and creating their own haikus. Students are also beginning to word process their poems.
