During Crew, students shared about a food that is special or a tradition with their family. Crew activities included the opposite game, when the waves roll and more.

In Reading Workshop, students continued to focus on the
target: I will read JR books. They also read and wrote sticky notes on text to self or text to text connections.
Maya, Tyndall and Matthew use a dichotomous key to identify animals. They also completed some ABC research. |
Bennett, Liam and Jesse use computers to complete a note catcher grid about animal classes. They also used our website/science link page to learn more about animal classification. Your child should learn his/her 8-digit password. |
In Math in Mrs. Malloy's room, students reviewed and assessed Unit 1. Ms. Sakai's class, reviewed place value and number grids.
In Social Studies, students learned about the three branches of government. The new Madison field trip date is Friday, November 20th.

Special Notes and Friendly Reminders for Parents
1. Thursday bags are due by Monday (or the first day of the next week.)
2. Please turn in the Reading Log (totaled) by Monday, October 5th.
3. Late slips for homework and reading logs started last week. Students may also earn "no homework coupons" to use.

A typical Sat. for me is driving Miya to dance a couple of times and we hope to pick apples this weekend. Last weekend, I biked on the Interurban Bike Trail-one of my favorites! I hope you enjoy your weekend!
